My name is Sooraj. I am a Computer Science and Engineering graduate, and I am building my career in cloud computing, Linux system administration and DevOps.
How my journey started
I became interested in understanding how servers work, how websites are hosted, and how cloud platforms help businesses run their applications. This interest encouraged me to learn Linux, AWS and other infrastructure technologies through practical labs.
What I am learning
I am developing my technical skills through hands-on projects involving:
- Linux: Managing users, permissions, services and files.
- AWS: Working with EC2, S3, IAM and cloud infrastructure.
- Web hosting: Configuring Nginx, PHP, MariaDB and WordPress.
- DevOps: Learning Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Docker and automation.
My first website
This WordPress website is one of my practical learning projects. I installed the web server, configured PHP and MariaDB, and deployed WordPress on a Linux server running on AWS EC2.
Through this project, I am learning how the different components work together to make a website accessible to users.
My goal
My goal is to become a skilled cloud and DevOps engineer by practising regularly, building real projects, and documenting what I learn.
I will use this blog to share my technical notes, troubleshooting experiences and lessons learned along the way.
